Rapid expansion in the VLBI structure of LSI + 61 ◦ 303

چکیده
We present the results of global VLBI observations at 6 cm wavelength of the X-ray binary LSI+61◦303 made at epoch 1992.4. During the course of our 24 hour VLBI observing session, the integrated flux measured simultaneously with the VLA indicated that the source was experiencing a minor flare, with the total flux rising and falling by ∼ 12 mJy. Our VLBI observations indicate that this brightening occurred on milli-arcsecond scales, and was accompanied by an increase of the compact radio structure size with velocity ∼ 0.06c, which appeared to decelerate rapidly upon reaching a dimension of about 4 AU.

One - sided jet at milliarcsecond scales in LS I + 61 ◦ 303
We present Very Long Baseline Interferometry (VLBI) observations of the high mass X-ray binary LS I +61 • 303, carried out with the European VLBI Network (EVN). Over the 11 hour observing run, performed ∼10 days after a radio outburst, the radio source showed a constant flux density, which allowed sensitive imaging of the emission distribution. The structure in the map shows a clear extension t...

LSI+61 303 is an exotic binary system consisting of a ∼ 10M⊙ B star and a compact object which is probably a neutron star. The system is associated with the interesting radio source GT 0236+610 that exhibits bright radio outbursts with a period of 26.5 days. We report the results of continuous daily radio interferometric observations of GT 0236+610 at 2.25 and 8.3 GHz from 1994 January to 1996 ...
متن کاملOptical and infrared modulation in the Be - star / X - ray source LSI + 61 ◦ 303
The Be star X-ray source LSI+61◦303 is found to show optical and infrared modulation with its orbital period. We show that this modulation is due to radiation from a shock produced by the companion to the Be star, while it passes through the gas envelope of the Be star in its binary motion.
متن کاملPhotometric and H observations of LSI + 61 303 : detection of a 26 day V and JHK band
We present new optical and infrared photometric observations and high resolution H spectra of the periodic radio star LSI+61 303. The optical photometric data set covers the time interval 1985-1993 and amounts to about a hundred nights. A period of 26 days is found in the V band. The infrared data also present evidence for a similar periodicity, but with higher amplitude of variation (0. m 2). ...
